The Aubrey
Rose Foundation has
teamed up with Christian Chapman "The Faster Pastor"
to help him and his ministry reach out to 1000's of children
so close to the USA in his unusual approach to ministry. Christian
is a preacher in his church in Charlotte N.C. and The Baja Project
is an opportunity to do outside the box ministry that most churches
can’t do because their focus is inward driven by discipleship
and local community outreach. Christian is teaming
up with his good friend Chris Mastin to race in
the Baja Project.
Jesus' Ministry was Mobile
Christian and Chris support and love the local church and their
efforts to reach those that are around the corner but they, also
understand that Jesus’ ministry was mobile as well as were
most of the disciples and apostles of the early church. Jesus Himself
reminded the disciples of their mission with his words in Acts 1:8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon
you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and Samaria, and
even to the remotest places on earth.
As Christian reminds us, "That
word "remotest" in the Greek language means “lowest”
and that is exactly the same word that could be used to describe
the terrain and its inhabitant s
the racers of the Baja 1000 experience. On 11/19-11/21 this grueling
1000 mile race through the desert of Baja in Mexico is filled with
some of the world’s toughest racing. Only 47% of the racers
who start this race will finish and when you do finish the prize
is not fortune and fame, but a sense of pride that only other participants
of the Baja 1000 would understand. Not only does it get National
TV attention but also the attention of two hundred and fifty thousand
spectators who live in and around the Baja Desert who come to watch
these trophy trucks race through their back yard at 100 plus mph.
For those of us using this race to springboard ministry
opportunities, that exposure is priceless!!!"
The Baja Project will be teaming up with Y-Wam
ministries whose main office is in San Diego, just one hour
from the start finish line of the Baja 1000 in Ensenada Mexico.
Y-Wam frequently does ministry in this small Baja town by reaching
out to children, homeless shelters, local schools as well as churches
who will be there long after the youth from Y-Wam are done with
their projects. The Baja Project will team up with Y-Wam, providing
funds as well as Spanish bibles for the people of Ensenada. Christian
and Chris will also be sharing the gospel and meeting the needs
of those who are hungry by providing food and money for changes
to their tin roof and dirt floor homes. They will also have a chance
to witness and speak at local schools in San Filipe as well as a
children’s orphanage. All in all it is a GREAT opportunity
to share the love of Jesus and to fulfill His command found in Acts
1:8.
To help accomplish this, Christian and Chris need YOU!!
With your gift of love they can buy the bibles, food, equipment,
and all that is needed to start and finish the Baja 1000 race. This
is an outside the box ministry that enables us
to get the attention and reach children we would never see.
We at The Aubrey Rose Foundation
are asking for your help for Christian Chapman, our Faster Pastor
and Chris Mastin on their Project. Please help us help them
reach the children of Baja.
