Healing the World's Hearts Program

The Healing the World's Hearts Program, a goal of the Aubrey Rose Hollenkamp Foundation, aims to bring children with life threatening heart problems from international countries as well as children from the United States, to Children's Hospital Medical Center for surgical repair of their heart. The patients will go through a process that requires them to provide a full medical report from the physician that is presently treating them. We will also need documentation from the parents indicating the nature of their financial hardship and need for assistance from our Foundation.

This is a first time, unique project. Cincinnati Children's Hospital has never been approached to participate in a partnership where there is grant money, along with partners willing to address the associated needs of the patient and their family. Cincinnati Children's Hospital Cardiology was very willing to give their support and commitment to this endeavor based on the letters of intent from the other organizations and their involvement in the global community. The medical team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center will review the documentation and make the determination if they can medically assist this patient within the boundaries of our agreement. These boundaries are that a child will only require one surgical repair to mend their heart. Our goal would be for the patient to return to their homeland and be able to live a healthy and productive life after the surgery is performed.
