The Scholarship Reception

Our goal for this Scholarship Reception is to have the scholarship recipients feel so special and so we invite the recipient and their parents (no other siblings), the 8th grade teachers, grade school principals and the high school principals from the schools where the recipients will be going to, in attendance. We want this Reception to be so motivating and uplifting and we want everyone to walk away knowing what an honor it was not just for the Scholarship Recipient to receive this award but also for everyone to walk away with a special feeling in their hearts and smiles on their faces! This is a “dessert reception” where scrumptious desserts are served.

On June 9th, 2011, the Scholarship Reception was such a wonderful evening. Scholarship recipients could meet other students who will be going on to high school. And it was a night where their new principals/administrators could meet the recipients as well. We had Phil Heimlich as our keynote speaker, who gave a dynamic presentation.

We also presented our ABOVE AND BEYOND AWARD and normally we give it out to one scholarship recipient and their family who has literally gone above and beyond with help the Aubrey Rose Foundation. This year was a tough decision because we had many famililes who pitched in and helped but there was two families to stood out this year and so we decided to give these awards to both families. Caroline Reel recipient from St. Susanna School and she’ll be a sophomore at Mt. Notre Dame and Abby Rieger, who will be a sophomore at Mother of Mercy High School. Both of these girls and their families have gone above and beyond in helping the Aubrey Rose Foundation.

Both Caroline and Abby and their families embraced Aubrey’s Foundation with such a passion helping out wherever needed. Their support was evident in everything that Aubrey’s Foundation was a part of. It was a unanimous decision to award this honor to the Reel and Rieger families. With the Above and Beyond Award comes a $1000 scholarship for Caroline and Abby’s sophomore year tuition. Congratulations Caroline and Abby and families.
